Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport
Lyon is the practical airport for the Tarentaise valley. The motorway runs as far as Albertville and Moûtiers; the final climb to each resort is the slow part, and the part that queues on a changeover Saturday.
Grenoble Alpes-Isère Airport
Grenoble is a seasonal airport with a concentrated Saturday charter schedule, and it is the closest gateway to the Oisans resorts. The famous twenty-one hairpins up to Alpe d’Huez are the last half-hour of the drive.

Peak Saturdays: plan differently
European school holidays stagger through February and almost every chalet in the Alps changes over on a Saturday, so the whole region transfers on the same day. Geneva arrivals stack up from mid-morning, the A40 and the Tarentaise valley road both queue, and an 80-minute drive can become well over two hours. Book weeks rather than days ahead, fly early in the morning or in the evening if you can, and consider a Friday or Sunday arrival where your accommodation allows it. We build the extra time into the pickup on those dates rather than pretending the road is empty.
Skis, boards and luggage
Ski equipment decides which vehicle we send, not simply how the boot is packed. A sedan that seats three adults with suitcases cannot also take three ski bags and three boot bags, so tell us how many pairs of skis or boards you carry and we will size the vehicle accordingly or fit a roof box. Rental equipment collected in resort changes nothing on the way in but everything on the way out, so mention the return leg too.
Child seats and winter equipment
French law requires an appropriate restraint for every child under ten. Isofix bases, forward-facing seats and booster cushions are provided at no extra charge, but we need ages and weights at booking so the driver can fit them before you land. Our vehicles carry the winter tyres or chains that French mountain regulations require in the Alpine valleys, which is one of the costs a hire car adds and a transfer does not.

Which airport should I fly into for my resort?
Geneva for Chamonix, Megève, Morzine and Avoriaz. Lyon-Saint Exupéry for the Tarentaise — Courchevel, Méribel, Val d’Isère, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Plagne. Grenoble for the Oisans resorts of Alpe d’Huez and Les Deux Alpes. Flying into the wrong one can add two hours to the transfer in each direction.
Are these prices per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle, one way. The van carries up to seven passengers with luggage, so two people pay the same as seven. They are indicative fares: the final fixed price is confirmed before booking once we know your exact address, date and equipment.
What is the French sector at Geneva airport?
Geneva airport sits on the Franco-Swiss border and has a separate French sector with its own road access into France. Being collected there means the transfer never crosses the border and never needs a Swiss motorway vignette. You can use it whichever airline you flew with: follow the signs marked "Secteur France" after baggage reclaim.
Can you carry skis, snowboards and boot bags?
Yes, at no extra charge, but declare them at booking. Equipment decides the vehicle size rather than simply the packing, and a party that fits a sedan with suitcases often needs a van once skis are added. We can also fit a roof box for larger groups.
Do you provide child seats for the mountain roads?
Yes, free of charge, for every child under ten as French law requires. Give us ages and weights at booking so the correct Isofix base, forward-facing seat or booster is fitted before you arrive rather than improvised at the kerb.
What happens if my flight is delayed or the road is closed?
We track the flight number you give us and move the pickup to the real landing time, with no delay surcharge. Alpine roads occasionally close for avalanche control or heavy snow; when that happens the driver takes the official diversion and we keep you informed by phone. We plan a buffer into winter timings rather than promising an arrival time the mountain does not control.
